First Official Games: Tentatively Mid May
SENIOR LEAGUE (14+)
Description
The general format for the season will consist of tryouts, draft, practices and games. The Marathon County Parks Department (MCP), is responsible for opening the fields we play on in Wausau. The target opening date is early April, however, that is weather dependent. Remember, if your child was drafted onto a team last year, he will not have to try out a second time this year.
WYB&S each year works with surrounding communities to develop a competitive schedule of games. This year we will be playing in a league with DCE, and Merrill. Teams will travel when playing away games against the other communities.
Games start at approximately 6:30 PM for single games and will begin slightly earlier for double-header games, Monday through Thursday, and last approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Participants will be playing on a full-sized diamond with a 90′ baseline and a 60′ 6″ raised pitching mound. Rules of play fall under the Babe Ruth League; including leading off, base stealing, and balks.
